The Junior Achievement “That 70s Bowl-A-Thon” is just around the corner

This special day of bowling will be held at metro Atlanta bowling centers on Thursday, June 12, 2008.  We hope you and your team will plan to join us for what promises to be an outstanding day of racking up strikes and spares!

The Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon is one of JA of Georgia’s employee participation events (EPE’s).  Companies across the Atlanta metro area participate to support Junior Achievement in their goal of helping over 108,000 students in the state to understand the economics of life in the 2007-2008 school year.

The Bowl-A-Thon will be a celebration of the money raised to support JA of Georgia.  There are many shifts and locations to choose from in which your team will have 2 hours of unlimited bowling and will be able to win numerous prizes.  Don't forget to dress-up in your favorite 1970s attire!
For further information please contact Jonathan Russell at jrussell@georgia.ja.org.

Last year, AT&T raised over $500,000 for Junior Achievement through the generosity of AT&T employees. From April 17th through June 20th, AT&T continues to be JA’s largest employee fundraising campaign, providing for thousands of students in Georgia to learn the importance of personal financial literacy, global marketplace readiness and entrepreneurial thinking each year. Please visit the ATT/JA website to learn more, make an online donation, or join the AT&T Go for the Gold Bowl-A-Thon.

September 22 - JA Golf Classic – Save the Date!

The JA Golf Classic is one of Junior Achievement of Georgia’s biggest and most exciting fundraising events.  2008 marks the Classic’s 12th year and will again be held at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Georgia. The day includes a putting contest, lunch, round of golf, raffle, and silent auction, and wraps up with cocktails, a buffet dinner and an awards reception.  Last year, through the generosity of the Golf Classic sponsors, corporate foursome sponsors, and individual golfers, the event raised over $150,000.  This money helps Junior Achievement of Georgia provide more than 108,000 students across the state with programs teaching skills related to personal financial literacy, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking, and global workforce readiness.  2008 promises to surpass last year’s total, enabling JA of Georgia to serve even more students.  For further information please contact Jonathan Russell at jrussell@georgia.ja.org.

The JA Fellows Program is an innovative approach to free enterprise education and personal development. Committed high school students from metro Atlanta will learn by doing and find joy in pursing aggressive, future goals. Please check back in May for updates on how to become a JA Fellow in the Fall of 2008.
